EXCRETE

Human being!
Spirit, soul and body.
Artistry.
Unique, beautiful, intricate.
Put together;
Knit by knit, bit by bit, piece by piece,
String by string, stitch by stitch.
Each, working together,
Hand in hand,.
Self sufficient;
Self healing, self cleaning.

Feel an itch on your nose,
Scratch it.
Feel a mosquito bite your thigh,
Slap it!
See a cockroach climb up your wall,
Smack it!

All things disposable need be disposed of.

Human being!
Spirit, soul and body.
Artistry.
Unique, beautiful, intricate.
Put together;
Knit by knit, bit by bit, piece by piece,
String by string, stitch by stitch.
Each, working together,
Hand in hand,.
Self sufficient;
Self healing, self cleaning.

Feel a pinch in your bladder,
Pee.
Feel a tug at your bowels,
Release,
Relieve,
...Excrete!

Excrete,
No shame about it,
Everybody does it.
President, King, Queen etc.
The name that cannot be named,
The gate of no gate.

Excrete!
Set yourself free.
Waste, resource, object, being, sin, person, demon, feeling etc.
Let it be.
Let down your tears,
Brush your teeth
Be at peace.

All things disposable need be disposed of.

Human being!
Spirit, soul and body.
Artistry.
Unique, beautiful, intricate.
Put together;
Knit by knit, bit by bit, piece by piece,
String by string, stitch by stitch.
Each, working together,
Hand in hand,.
Self sufficient;
Self healing, self cleaning.

Excrete!

DOWN BUT NOT OUT

Down but not out.
Distraught,
But we shall not frown.

Our tears,
The glue that holds us together.
We dare to cry
But we cry as one...
A WAR CRY!
Loud and proud.
Not defeated
Like that of a child.
A broken record,
We repeat.
Be not fooled.
Our tears
Are daggers
That pierce the hearts of our enemies.

Our predicament.
We paved this path.
We paid mind
To petty squabbles
And inflated egos.

Our enemies,
Like thieves in the night,
Plotted and planned,
Marked their territory;
Our home,
Down to every pot and pan.

Our enemies
Walked right into our front door
And claimed domicile.
Our beautiful home
Ours no more.

Our response.
We came undone.
Shutting doors,
Silencing all corridors.
...

Our response.
...

Our response-
Our tears,
The glue that holds us together.
We dare to cry
But we cry as one.
A WAR CRY!
Loud and proud.
Not defeated
Like that of a child.
A broken record,
We repeat.
Be not fooled.
Our tears
Are daggers
That pierce the hearts of our enemies.

Nothing!

Drawing blanks.
Empty head, empty tin,
An empty sheet stares right at me.
What can I add to it?
Nothing!

Surely, this is worse than writer's block.

This is our time!
As creatives, this is our time to shine,
This is our time to influence the world.
We handed over the reigns to politicians.
Feast your eyes on what they have done with it.
The hour is nigh,
The pen calls the hand;
"Come, let's speak to the world"
Come, let's finally write to that girl".

So I make a cup of coffee,
Sit in front of my screen and...
Nothing!

There is so much to write about.
People are hungry to read, to watch.
People are scrolling through their phones,
Looking for content that will make them
Laugh, cry, smile.

The hour is nigh.
Tick-tock,
Before depression starts calling.
I sit on my bed.
Maybe, just maybe if I lay down on my bed
I will get creative.

Nothing!

I sit up and watch a few (more than a few) You tube videos,
I am seeking inspiration

Nothing!

I look through every Whats app status
Have a laugh, a sigh, a smile...
Even a fart (excuse me!)
(Pee-yew! Smells like over cooked beans)

Nothing!
C'mon man,
The world is waiting...

Nothing!

Then I remember a trick a facilitator
Taught us at a creatives' conference recently...
"Creativity is the innate ability to access options"

I need to access options.
I need to take a walk.
What time is it?
6:50 pm, nope!
Curfew is in.
I'm not getting myself beaten so easily.

My other option...
Nothing!

Eureka!
I can write about nothing.

LIBERTY'S CRY

LIBERTY'S CRY

"We hold these truths to be true, to be self evident,
That all men are created equal,
They are endowed by the creator
With certain unalienable rights,
That among these are life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness".

No man was created to own you.

We do, hold these truths to be true,
That the virtue termed freedom is absolute,
That the view that freedom is only awarded
To those that support the hand that wields the gauntlet of power
Is certainly not true.
We do, hold these truths to be true,
That the ideals of self determination and democracy
Were not created to be by man misused.
They are not tools that were created to be used
To impoverish and enslave those who don't have a clue
As to how these ideals ought to be used.

We do, hold these these truths to be true,
That every man, every nation was created to thrive
And not to strive under the tyranny and corruption
Of Western domination.
We do of course, hold these truths to be true,
That life is a gift from God
And it ought not to be misused.
The tentacles of war have no reason to hold on
To the bones of human life

Simply because there is nothing reasonable
Well, except from greed and corruption
That is worth fighting for.
We do, hold these truths to be true,
That we are told to ignore
The old age precepts of morality
And replace them with the vile, incandescent
And skewed principles of "modernity".

We do, hold these truths to be true,
That no man was created without
The abject and absolute values of justice
And of virtue.
What is right and what is wrong
Has always been strongly absolute.
We do, hold these truths to be true,
That no one can even try to allude
To the fact that there is no such thing called Truth.

We hold these truths to be true, to be self evident,
That man and woman are equal.
Man and Woman are largely distinguishable parts
That together form one whole.
Neither of them was created to be a sequel.

We hold these truths to be true, to be self evident;
Justice, liberty, freedom and the pursuit of happiness is for all,
Whether that person is black, white, brown, yellow, short or tall.
These virtues were created by God.
These virtues that in commonality
We all hold as absolute
Are meant to be enjoyed by all.
